Welcome to Speaq ("we", "our", or "us"). We run an anonymous voice and text chat platform located at speaq.in. Your privacy is not just a policy to us—it is the foundation of our entire platform. This Privacy Policy details how we handle data and protect your identity.
Zero Audio Recording Policy: We do not record, store, listen to, or analyze any voice conversations. All voice chats are fully peer-to-peer (P2P) and ephemeral.
1. Information We Collect
Because Speaq is built on anonymity, we collect the bare minimum data required to connect you with chat partners:
- Account Information: If you sign in (optional), we collect your email address via Supabase Auth. For guest accounts, we only store an optional temporary nickname.
- Usage Data: We track transient connection parameters (such as connection start/end time, online status) to manage matchmaking queues.
- Billing Data: If you purchase reply credits or join Speaq Plus, payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We store order or subscription identifiers, payment status, product, amount, billing-cycle dates, and support references, but never see or store your card, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
- Speaq AI Content: Speaq AI messages and a compact conversation summary are stored for up to 24 hours so the conversation can continue across refreshes and verified devices. Token counts and estimated model cost may be retained without message content for billing and operations.
- Approved Memories: Speaq may suggest a compact memory about a preference, goal, fact, or ongoing thread. It is stored beyond 24 hours only after you explicitly approve it. You can review, edit, forget, or delete all approved memories.
- Check-in Preferences: If you opt in, we store the topic, cadence, local time, timezone, and email preference needed to provide gentle check-ins. Check-ins are off by default and every email includes a stop link.
- Safety Signals: Messages are classified for ordinary distress, elevated risk, or possible immediate danger so Speaq can respond safely and display relevant support resources. These classifications are used for the live response and are not approved memories.
- WebRTC Connection Metadata: When you connect to a voice call, temporary WebRTC signaling data is used to establish the peer-to-peer connection. This data is discarded as soon as the connection is established.
- Analytics & Page Views: We use first-party identifiers and Google Analytics to measure visits, referral sources, product usage, and advertising conversions. These identifiers are not intended to reveal your real-world identity.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the minimal data collected solely for the following purposes:
- Providing instant peer-to-peer matchmaking for voice and text chat.
- Managing AI reply credits, memberships, payment reconciliation, refunds, and purchase recovery.
- Providing user-approved continuity, optional check-ins, and safety-oriented responses.
- Preventing spam, abuse, overspending, and duplicate credit grants.
- Optimizing our technical server performance and routing.
3. Zero Data Sharing Policy
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers. Data is only processed by our direct service providers to operate the application:
- Supabase: For secure database hosting and user authentication.
- Razorpay: For processing one-time reply packs and recurring Speaq Plus memberships.
- Resend: For delivering check-in emails that you explicitly enable.
- Groq API: For running the optional Speaq AI feature. We only send the text messages you write directly to the Speaq AI during chat sessions, and no auth identifiers are shared.
- Metered: For generating temporary ICE/TURN credentials to connect peer-to-peer voice calls through firewalls.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads: For traffic measurement, attribution, and conversion reporting.
4. Data Retention
Live stranger text messages and voice calls are ephemeral; we do not store their transcripts or audio. Speaq AI message content is retained for no more than 24 hours and then deleted automatically. Approved compact memories remain until you delete them. Check-in preferences remain until disabled or the account is deleted. Purchase, subscription, credit-ledger, aggregate usage, token-count, and payment records may be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legal obligations.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use local and session storage to keep you logged in, preserve preferences, and assign first-party analytics identifiers. Google Analytics may also set or access measurement cookies subject to your browser settings and Google's policies.
6. Your Rights & Deletion
If you have verified an email, you can review and delete approved memories, disable check-ins, or contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to payment and legal record-retention duties. Live chat audio and transcripts are not stored. Raw Speaq AI content expires automatically within 24 hours.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. We encourage you to check this page periodically for updates.
